1. I love to make things. Crafts of every kind, scrapbooking, sewing, puzzles…I love putting almost anything together.
2.I like my handwriting. It sounds weird but my handwriting changes slightly depending on the day or what I am writing. Sometimes it is neat and sometimes it is sloppy and hooked together. I always use my best cursive on checks. That is actually the ONLY time I use cursive. I got “best handwriting” award in my seventh grade English class.
3.I organize my clothes by color. When I get dressed in the morning, I go to the color that feels like me that day. It is most often pink, green, orange, yellow, or another bright color with a bold pattern. I rarely wear black, beige, or white, unless it is with some colorful jewelry or funky shoes. Plain or dull colors don’t feel like “me”.
4. I am a total bargain shopper. I LOVE getting a good deal on anything. I rarely pay full price for clothing. I buy my kids clothes on the clearance rack a year ahead. The outfit I am wearing right now cost me $25 dollars, total. My fave places for a bargain are DI, Old Navy, and Wal-Mart.
5. People tell me I use a very small amount of toothpaste. I had no idea that I did this until it was brought to my attention.
6. I have a really good memory when it comes to numbers and dates. I remember everyone’s birthday. I will remember anyone’s phone number if I’ve seen it and dialed it once. My husband has grown so accustomed to this, that before he calls anyone, he always asks me the phone number of the person he’s calling (even some of his own friends). He still asks me what our OWN phone number is and we’ve lived here 3 months. Why use up valuable brain space when you have a walking phone book for a wife?
7. Even though my house is usually messy, I really like having a clean house. But since I have a husband and 3 kids, I can let the clutter slide for a while. Then after a few days or so, all of a sudden, I can’t stand it anymore, and I’ll go on a cleaning rampage. It seems like the more kids I have, those rampages get fewer and farther between. And no one ever stops by to see me after I’ve just cleaned. It is always when my house is a wreck. Oh well.

waiting and anticipating
I've never been more excited for my baby to smile at me than this time around. I knew it was coming and at almost 5 weeks I got his first smile. The next day, he smiled at his sister. And yesterday, I was determined to get it on camera. So after lots of googley, high-pitched mommy talk...
Come on, buddy...almost...

THERE! Yay!

real life beauty
This little girl is transforming from cute to gorgeous, right before my eyes. I know all moms think their kids are super cute, so I am trying to pretend like I just saw her in a grocery store and then see if she is just as pretty to me... yup. She has always been beautiful. She was a beautiful baby that turned into a beautiful toddler, and now, she is growing up and looking so much older. I am just thankful she has a big 6-foot-3 dad that can scare away her future dates, if needs be.
Just LOOK at those eyelashes...

Poll: Which old man does my baby look like?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

A. Jason B. Phil C. Patrick
Why is it that whenever my babies hit one month old, they lose all the hair on the top of their head and no where else? At least with my girl, I could put a hair bow on her. A lot of people think little baby boys look like old men. Well if he didn't before, he does now!
Moms are the best!
My mama called me today and it was really great to talk to her. I wanted to share some of my favorite pics of her and me. We are at my brother's 2 years ago, helping build a garage and listening to some oldies songs...

"You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off you. You'd be like heaven to touch, I wanna hold you so much..."

What a COOL lady. She is seriously amazing. A total champ. When I was in young women's, my bishop told me if I could become half as good as she is, I'd go to heaven. I believe him. I kinda hope that means I can have half as many kids as her, too. (She has 8).

Some things she has taught me: a place for everything and everything in its place, work before play, financial responsibility, unwavering faith, endure to the end, how to make yummy pumpkin pie, babies are supposed to be a lot of work, family are the best friends we have, admitting your mistakes to your kids is ok, being a home mama makes a huge difference in the lives of your children, why buy it if you can make your own, etc, etc...
There is so much to being a good mom. I would love to hear why your mom is a good one.
